1st a shocker; Final Fantasy Dissidia was half price in Game and being in my payday crazy state I bought it without a second thought and I have......grown FOND...of Zidane's English voice.

Some very long lost affection for Cloud has been restored (mainly because I like smashing people into walls)

And without going into it Terra was an absolute disappointment.
While I’ve grown fond of Kefka since my last replay of FFVI, I’ve never, until now, FELT SORRY FOR HIM.
And I did here…for having to deal with that absolute retard

2nd up, dun dun dundundun dun!
Have bought the Northern Artbook from the insanely talented for 6 euros and 1.60 postage/packaging; only 7.05 UK in total! THAT’S CHEAPER THAN A FREAKING PIZZA PEOPLES!
Hasn’t come yet but expecting it soon can’t wait IT CAME THIS MORNING! OMG it is TOO beautiful!


After giving the matter much time and consideration, I’ve decided to follow our friend Erin’s lead pull out of Law in Queens…but without the whole pregnancy thing tho.
It’s not a decision I’ve come to lightly, but given how things are working out, well plain and simple I can’t survive three and a half more years of living like this. With the job that I NEED and current state of mind and emotions, my work has steadily gotten sloppier, this past month especially, and came to the conclusion that not only was I going to fail with this trend, but I was going to come close to killing myself to do it, so after a very loooooooong chat with our year head it’s been decided to be the best thing to do, because I can’t see things improving for at least another six or seven months.

I have to say that of course I’m disappointed that things
have ended up this way, and that I wasn’t strong enough to see it though, then again I only pursued it to try and fulfil expectations…
So…eh…I guess?


Right onto business.

Con report!

This weekend both went to Dublin University to take part in Erikakon

And no lie, the weekend turned out to be, fantastic, better than Kitacon in fact.

Instead of actually staying in the cons recommended hotel (EK was held in the uni) we stayed over with a friend of mine, Jackie, hostess with the mostess, it was a truly excellent weekend. Filled with a lot of straaaaaange midnight+ conversations. Also despite us being friends for over a year this was the first chance and I have gotten to hang out for more than a few hours at a time outside classes and it was FOR THAT ALONE it was PRETTY AWESOME.

And unlike Kitacon where pretty much hung about till midnight and after, we left the con pretty early in comparison (I think the latest we stayed was 9pm) all of which was followed by typical Irish hospitality…yeah…booze and lots of it and the inevitable conversations brought about by booze.

Thursday:

Went up to Belfast to get Kevin from the Queens Halls shortly after 5
and was treated to a streaker on the way to his flat...(I swear
every time I see that thing it gets less and less appealing.)




But honestly, I felt a lot more relaxed this time around probably due to the fact that given we where staying with Jackie and there weren’t any nagging feelings in the back of my head triggered by, "Wow, you're so different in real life!"


I dunno, maybe it was just me being paranoid. Does anyone else who meets up with webfriends ever wonder if the other person likes you as much in real life? Probably just me

Trip started off typically; got into Dublin at 8pm Thursday, took us until nine to get to get to Jackie’s place.
and one would think with my tendency to be up all night most nights I’d be better acquainted with late night tv decided to turn the tv on just in time to see someone giving birth on one of those documentary things…lucky us…

Friday
On to the con the next day; we actually brought both full Alucard and Walter costumes but in the end the cosplay idea was scrapped, and we simply went as ourselves; being the fking geniuses we are and all.

Basically we just hung around, with Kevin getting very excited over a number of things in artists alley, including;

involving our tea of pizza on Saturday night and a spaced out look that he won't let me upload it's THAT good!

And moi got extremely excited over the new FF figures out, ie the
ZIDANE one! YAYNESS!
*dribbles* my most beloved of monkey men!
Watched some skits that day; they where freaking hilarious as they always seem to be

Saturday
Saturday was spent very much like Friday apart from taking a break mid day to go on a tour with Jackie

Personally though I enjoyed the nights a lot better.
That night especially was something of a crazy fest, just SO FREAKING WEIRD in a good way. Apparently I have an Australian accent that is quite commendable, so there you go Good times though.

I will never ever drink again.
Poor Kevin is scarred for life for it

Okay I realise this next one is out of con…ie in a BAR but with Kev pulling faces I couldn’t resist this one (YOU JUST KNOW HE’S THINKING OF CEECEE AGAIN!)


That‘s a credit to Jackie though for getting that hair so straight, it‘s currently sitting like a lions mane at the minute

You know as I’m writing this I just realised something else we failed to do, okay so it doesn’t matter really since we weren’t dressed up as sakura chan from the 26th moon and captain star-a-lot or whatnot but there’s not one photo I have here where we’re actually posing for the camera…(apart from that first one with Kevin but there’s like TOO MANY of these things from the entire weekend and not one proper “con shot” you know…what people generally do…feh…chalk it up to our originality…

Sunday:
Given the night previous none of us where conscious until at least half one pm and while I don’t suffer from hangovers, the booze just didn’t agree with Kevin what-so-ever and we just gave him time to recover before packing up super bro fisting Jackie and heading on back up north when I broke the news to since I didn’t want a bad start to the trip and he was already feeling crap D: who has been ultra supportive XD thanks Kev.


As for specific antics, I do remember someone taking video while a L4D Francis and I were singing grounds for divorce, so if that video surfaces on youtube I will certainly post the link, if anyone comes across it mean time let me know? I totally want that as a keepsake.

Anyway, totally awesome trip another con that was just very relaxed, and I wouldn't hesitate to go to another one with you Kevin, u is awesome funness!
Srsly mate, I hope your not too badly traumatised.
